Feasting by the Lake ---- Waterview Restaurant

Waterview Restaurant is located at Danok, Thailand. The special thing about this restaurant is that it's environment is very relaxing and cozy & you can eat beside a huge lake. They serve mostly seafood at a reasonable price for such an environment because usually places like this would cost you a bomb. You can take a Tut Tut from Danok to waterview which is a 10 minutes ride and cost around RM5 per person. For a trip back to Danok in a comfy huge van after your dinner there is only Rm3 and is provided by the restaurant itself. The food though was a little disappointing in terms of taste. But I think it's a good experience to dine beside the beautiful lake. Oh,and one more special thing about dining here is they actually cook your food at the other end of the lake so that your hair and clothes wouldn't stink with the smell of cooking. and your food is sent over by a boat. So you actually get your food 'imported' to you across the lake.

Steamed lime Siakap Fish
This was the best dish of the night but it was a little too spicy for all of us. Charcoal is used to keep
to keep the fish warm while we eat. This fish is quite appetizing.
stir fried golden mushroom

This one was quite normal. Nothing special and you can get it at any other shops in Danok.

Big head prawns in spicy fresh milk egg

This was really not our type of taste. It was spicy curry cooked with fresh milk. The creaminess of the milk didn't taste good with the curry and the steam egg in it made it taste worst. But the prawns was yummy. If you enjoy sucking prawns head you would love the prawns but I'm not quite sure about the way of cooking in this dish.

Yellow Curry Crabs

Yellow curry was ok only. But the crab was not super big. This one is just 'meh' .

Stewed Pork Leg
The pork legs though was just so-so cause I've tasted better ones in other places in Thailand.

The cozy environment with lots of plants. The whole place is built on wood so it gives you that chilling- with- nature kind of feel. The place is also decorated with little lanterns all over for that romantic atmosphere.

BFFs in purple unintentionally!

Night view
The black piece reflecting the lights is the lake!I reckon it's a little scary at night when you dine too near the water because the lake was really full as in the water looks like it's almost gonna flood up! Those huge light above the water are huts exactly on top of the lake.Yeap, we dined in one of the huts.
Never say no to panda!
You can take pictures with this gigantic panda right outside Waterview. There are two of them and their butts are HUGE.

Oh, check out 'Never say no to panda' commercial on youtube! Adios people! <3

Alladin pants

What are alladin pants??? Well they are pants that are baggy at the bottom part. That's Alladin pants!
They are super comfy compared to the normal skinny jeans or long pants most people usually wear. But make sure you style it properly or people might mistake your artistic Alladin pants for a pyjamas.

Knitted blue vest from Thai street market, Black tank top , Alladin floral pants from Spicy Mama, mini straw bag from Gurney's weekend market, Black Sandals with gold element from Vincci.

Comfy yet hipster-ish....yup,you're ready for a meet up sessions with your girlfriends or just grabbing lunch/brunch on a random afternoon.

Missing this round and fluffy + super soft penguin at Lovely Lace. So cuddle-proof! <3

Italinnies

Just a short post about Italiannies. Managed to try it out the other day at Gurney Paragon. Had a super late lunch at around 3:30pm or 4pm..you can call it tea time i guess. The service though did not met my expectation. Maybe because no one was dining in at that time except my table. But that shouldn't be an excuse right? We customers pay for service tax.Waited quite long for our food to be served. Anyway the food was quite alright and the price was just the usual price that most Italian restaurants set. Maybe some might find it reasonable as most of the dishes on the menu was meant for sharing but I could finish a whole plate myself.hahaha....don't be deceived by my small frame

Creamy Alfredo with asparagus and prawns

This is quite yummy as it is creamy and both asparagus and prawns are my favourite. I must say this combination is delicious!
Chicken Lasagna
This one was super cheesy as there is cheese in every layer. I love cheese but this was a little too much of cheese causing difficulties in finishing it. Asians will understand what I mean.haha. Too much of cheese makes you go yuck and you can't finish it.  ><

Might pay a visit again in future but the choices on their menu is quite limited. Hope they add more choices in future. :)

Full tank within budget

One of the things that I dislike most other than having to pay for pricey yet distasteful food is places that serves in small portions.we get that a lot in Penang hawkers. Obviously I'm not a big fan of fine dining. I mean if you gonna make delicious food then why not make it into a generous portion so that the significant function of food can be fulfilled? What's the point paying money for food when you're gonna end up with a growling stomach? So today, I'm gonna share with you guys a place which serves Japanese food that will fill you to the brim (even for big eaters like me) with a reasonable price.
Japin is available at both Queensbay and 1st Avenue. They serve mainly rice and noodles dishes. They don't serve sushi though cause their specialty is in set meals. I would say their food are not bad and my favorite would be their roasted pork slice. You can give it a try if you ever visit Japin. :)

My usual set meal

I usually order this set meal which consist of a spicy ramen and minced pork rice as I can have both noodles and rice. Don't need to fuss over which one to choose as you can have both in a set. This is quite heavy and the portion is just nice for me. Salad, drinks and watermelon are included in each set meal.
my iced green tea
You can choose either lime juice or green tea as your drink.
spicy ramen

Spicy ramen comes with the juicy roasted pork slice.
minced pork rice

Udon with Onsen egg set
The udon set was just so-so to me cause i still prefer my favourite set.But the Onsen egg was yums. You can literally slurp the egg.

The service there is not bad and the food there has never disappointed me so far.
Will blog about my favourite Japanese restaurant soon. Stay tuned!

Swissroll that got the town Moooooo-ing

I believe many of you have already tasted or at least saw  this swissroll that is going viral on the net especially in Penang.
Finally got to taste it last Tuesday. I got to say the packaging is really cute cause you hardly see nice packaging for food in Penang.

Was taken by surprise they even bothered to make the tail at the back. Super detailed with cuteness!!! Great as a gift for people with it's handy easy to carry design and only at the price of RM12.90.

The inside of Moo Moo Swissroll with cow prints. looks more like a pillow!

The taste is Ok to me but not as crazily yummy like what I heard. It tastes milky but I expected it to be more creamy.  People who are not milk friendly might not be able to accept the taste as it's milk flavoured.

We also bought their tiramisu cake for my grnadma's birthday. It was just an ordinary tiramisu cream cake. This one was not bad as it was super creamy...me love!

You can purchase Moo Moo Swissroll at any Summer Bakery in Penang.

The POP Look

#OOTD
Turquoise green top with pleated shoulder from Spicy Mama , Rose prints shorts from Danok, Bejeweled sandals from Vincci.

The usual me would have opted for a plain black top to go with these chio shorts but I decided to make it more fun looking. Suitable for a casual day out or a lazy afternoon without looking lazy. The colors make you feel energetic and young.

Oh , did i mentioned that high-waist shorts can do wonders for short people like me???
Instantly elongates your legs without surgery!

Plait your hair for that girlish look.

Ending this post with Dawn Yang's like for my OOTD picture for this look.

P/s I'm not on Team Dawn Yang or Team Xia Xue. But i guess it's a little bit of a recognition right? A celebrity blogger liking your ootd.  :P

#1 & Deepavali

My first post here & I'm gonna do just a short post of my OOTD for Deepavali 2012. Since I live in a multi-racial country, I thought I would give it a try and dress up with the Deepavali theme. Nope, I was not clad in a Sari but I played with accessories and colors.

(Floral top from Danok, mum's vintage skirt with elephant prints, purple bangles and earrings.)
Am into the color purple lately and I think purple really is a major color for Deepavali!

Add a clutch to make the whole look a little more sophisticated.

Did a little outdoor OOTD shots too since it was so green and the sun was just nice giving the right amount of ray to the picture to make it look a little summery. who am i kidding? It's 365 days of summer in Malaysia.

A square picture from my Instagram. Loving the purple on purple combination ^^

I did a light make up too...purple again for a sweet-romantic eyes :)

Lastly, ending this post with a Black & White picture which I think looks quite vintage with lots of 'feel' if you get what my 'feel' means. :P

Belated Happy Deepavali to all my Indian friends <3
